EXCLUSIVE FELA STAGE REHEARSAL PICTURES AS FELA! THE BROADWAY MUSICAL KICKS OFF TODAY IN LAGOS

Whatever you do, DO NOT miss FELA! The Broadway Musical Show as it kicks off today in Lagos at 7pm at the prestigious EKO Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos (showing every day till the 25th). Seriously Doughnuts had the privilege of meeting the cast and crew on Sunday the 17th of April and even more we got an exclusive sneak preview of the cast and crew during rehearsals...One word? AWESOME!

The set is completely out of this world, the investment, the production, the effort the team, everything was absolutely amazing and then some...Honest, it is the biggest production to hit this side of West Africa since Festac 1977. Trust me they do not describe it as a 'ECSTATIC PHENOMENON' for nothing... you should have seen the number of professionals working super-hard to fine-tune sounds, lighting etc...
I personally will NOT miss it for the world and in response to critics I dear say that if FELA The Broadway Show wasn't brought to us on this scale (Americans do things BIG) no one would have made this huge investment in celebrating the Life of FELA a true legend that lived and died on our soil and what good would that have done. Whichever way you look at it, FELA is being celebrated and if you were a FAN in his lifetime or after then YOU MUST see FELA!
The set alone is so imaginative and so beautifully designed and constructed to evoke the spirit of the organised chaos reminiscent of Fela's original entertainment hub and shrine - It's ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR!
