Coinciding with the excitement and anticipation of the start of the Olympics, Africa at Soboye will be showcasing an array of talent from the African diaspora and designers inspired by Africa today the 26th of June 2012 in sunny London! Yay!

About Samson Soboye
Nigerian designer Samson has been the Creative Director of Shoreditch based boutique S O B O Y E London since 2002. His work in the London fashion industry includes teaching on the BA and MA Fashion Imaging courses at the London College of Fashion, University of East London and Epsom School of Art. After completing a BA (Hons) in Fashion Communication and Promotion at Central St.Martin’s School of Art in 1994, Samson went straight on to assist Lucinda Chambers at British Vogue. This gave Samson the perfect grounding, and a bulging contacts book to launch himself as a stylist in his own right. Samson has worked editorially for The Independent, The Guardian, The Saturday Times Magazine, Es Magazine, The Sunday Express Wound, Valerie Campbell, Melanie Sykes, Katie Derham Sunday Express. Samson has established quite a cult following amongst the industry for his own style, (he’s known to rock a velvet bow tie on any day of the week), and for simply making women look fabulous.The photographers he has worked with include Peter Zownir, Stuart Weston, Carlos Lumiere to name a few. Samon’s Shoreditch boutique, ‘Soboye’, has become a regular destination for his diverse client base, who come to him for personal styling. They have become reliant on his eye for what works , he sometimes gives clients a style overhaul, or just gently suggests the perfect accessory to make the most of their outfit.
