ALL BLACK EVERYTHING (ABE) 2011 - THE LAGOS CHRISTMAS PARTY

If you managed to get on Twitter on Christmas Day, you would have noticed that  lots of 'Lagos Tweeps' were headed only one way -  The All black Everything Party (ABE) at Harbour Point, Lagos.  ABE has kinda found it's feet as a regular fixture within the Lagos party scene with this year's party being the 4th installation by its organiser, TiwaWorks. The 'black theme' was apparently  enforced: No Black, No Entry.
So 'awon rockers' got their blacks on paying up to N10,000 per head entry fee at the door and guess what? It was super packed and although a few announced performances didn't happen, the party still went on down.
Seriously Doughnut's Lumi Morgan was there to capture how the 'young and funky' partied Christmas 2011 night away...

Lynxx and Moet

Just so you get a feel of what happens at the ABE, here is a video teaser from last year's event which took place at Get Arena...

The way Lagos peeps party is almost a sin....!!!
Anyhooo, we're still living and loving Lagos...!!
We are still Seriously Doughnuts Y'all!!!

Some  Twitter followers insist he is  only in coma and not dead.

We certainly hope he is alive and wish him speedy recovery. It would be truly sad to lose such a young talent and especially painful at this time of the year as everyone looks forward to the New Year.

SD NOTICE: THE DILLY ISSUE

Our attention has been drawn to an article quoting a recent post on SD (which has since been deleted) regarding a "Mr Dilly" who was featured in the post. The facts of the matter are as follows; Seriously Doughnuts went to an event and spotted a gentleman who we thought was a Model and innocently shot his picture as we have done with other subjects at several events to be featured here on Seriously Doughnuts as part of our fashion and entertainment content. We didn't know who he was or his history but we were curious as to why he didn't want his picture taken. We had a small conversation and managed to convince him to take a single shot.
The event coverage including the rather peculiar conversation that ensued and our observation on the night was posted but we were shocked to receive an anonymous comment  regarding Mr Dilly's background. We therefore took the decision to immediately delete the post as Seriously Doughnuts positions itself as a 'Fashion and Entertainment Blog Only'.
Our reporting is light-hearted  in line with our ethos as Nigerian lifestyle observers. We are NOT detectives or investigators, neither do we have a crystal ball to see into people's lives. We work hard to create original content that we hope our readers will find fun and entertaining (which ironically, has often been plagiarised / duplicated  by the writers of the article on several occasions)  and we cannot realistically be expected to investigate into peoples lives in the cause of our work .

Thank you for your attention

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Hey peeps,
It's my very first Christmas in Nigeria in yonks and although in comparison it doesn't feel like Christmas at all with not much fancy decorations or fanfare in town but still, I'm grateful to be here at this time with family and people I really love.I'm especially happy to be spending christmas with my father who is now pretty old and as much as it's tiring to care for him, I feel fulfilled for the opportunity to be here with him. To him this Christmas, I am an answered prayer!

Looking at my dad though, I have summed up that life is such a precious gift, you've just got to get up and make the most of the present as a time will quickly come when you can't do much. We all must find something to do to make our lives fulfilling. Enjoy the love of family (often times they are the only ones that will stick their neck out for you).Celebrate and live Your life to the fullest, choose your friends wisely and trust God only!
Wishing You A Very Merry Christmas...

Today, like everyone else I intend to have a 'food-filled', 'merry-drinks downing' time celebrating the birth of the 'Biggest Gift' to mankind - The Birth of Jesus. I will also be taking time out to reflect on how I lived my life this year and drafting some resolutions on how I can live my life better as the New Year approaches. If you will be doing similar, remember to be kind to yourself whilst being brutally honest. Listen to your inner voice. Don't let dogma get you down.Shake the dust off your shoulder, follow your heart and ask God for direction on your next steps...

I'm trusting that by God's Grace we will all be moved from glory to glory in 2012. I see a new exciting direction Seriously Doughnuts in 2012 and I want to thank you all very much for your continued support, comments and contribution here.

Readers in Nigeria, UK, USA, Dubai, Ghana, Canada, Ireland, France, Kenya... wherever you are, we see you on our stats..Thank you! Thank you !Thank you!! Your readership is much appreciated. Here is wishing you all a blessed Christmas, God's protection and a bountiful and prosperous New Year!

Lots of Love,
B.

NB: If you have aged parents in Nigeria, don't forget to send much love their way, now is the time they need you most- Choose to be an answered prayer!!

EXCLUSIVE PICTURES: L'ESPACE PRIVATE PREVIEW EVENING....

The much anticipated Fashion and Lifestyle Concept  Store - L'ESPACE by  Le Petit Marche held a private preview evening in celebration of  its opening at 19 Olosa Street, Victoria Island, Lagos on the 18th of Dec and  as expected LPM and Fashion lovers came to support this trail blazing concept.
I'm really impressed at all the work the organisers put into this project and there is no doubt in my mind that L'ESPACE will be a huge success, as it opens its doors to upcoming labels like mine (TÓTÉ) as a brick and mortar outlet to stock and market their products.
I'm particularly excited that TÓTÉ is on board @ L'ESPACE so all I have to worry about for now is focusing on design and production and buyers can just pop into L'ESPACE to buy...! FANTASTIC!
Other brands such as Akpos Okudu, Cam Cam Sweets and  Eclectic by Sasha (the rappers) clothing label, Motara Thomas, Ejiro Amos Tafiri and many more are also stocked there...
Here are a few pictures from the private viewing evening...

A huge congratulations to LPM on the successful opening of L'ESPACE. Here's wishing L'ESPACE (and brands they stock) great success !!! OK people its shopping time!!!! Once again L'ESPACE is at 19 Olosa Street (Opposite Eko Hotel), VI...go check it out!!!
