If Nike Osinowo-Soleye's aim with the 'Miss Nigeria Contest' was to create a world class, credible and classy beauty contest, then we can all safely say that she nailed it big time this year!.Bells and Whistles et all, the show was glamourous, well executed and well attended. At the end of it all, 21 year old, Miss Oluwafeyijinmi Modupeola Sodipo emerged "Miss Nigeria 2011 Queen Ambassador" . Read here about Miss Sodipo or here about the contest.
Vlisco was one of the sponsors and as you can imagine they added their 'fashion drama' to the contestants evening wear - exciting stuff ! The contest took place on the 18th of November at Eko Hotel and Suites and Seriously Doughnuts was there to capture it all just for you....:)
Why not grab a tall cold drink and enjoy the pictures.....you'll almost feel like you were there...*wink! wink!

Wow, the ankara designs are absolutely amazing! Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteLove the attires. Most especially the traditional costumes and the ankara costumes.
ReplyDeleteAwesome pics. Great job getting them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You Rock!
ReplyDeleteClassy. I hope Vlisco paid big bucks for the exposure. Speaking of exposure: I think one of the rules was that all the girls had to wear the Aunt Nike smile - what was that? Or they wear also sponsored by a tooth-whitener? lol.
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, much love and respect and kudos.
Some of the guests 'mutton dressed as lamb' comes to mind.
ReplyDeletewhat are the guests wearing?
ReplyDeleteAge is really telling on Aunty Nike. LOL! Not too sure the barely there up-do and no earrings fitted her. Even if she just wore diamond studs she would have looked better. I like the Deola Sagoe dress. I hope Nike will allow the new queen to be and she should perhaps take a less prominent role.
ReplyDeleteBola Balogun never fails to impress me.
It's Bode Emanuel.
Data A; what's that?
I'm not feeling LDA's hotchpotch!
at this rate aunty nickys complexion will soon match eku edewor's
ReplyDeleteCan you do a style post on bola Balogun ? She always impresses me with her style not to mention how great she looks after having 5 children
ReplyDeleteHello, really nice pictures and good work as usual. It is Chief Bode Emmanuel and not Bob Manuel. Data Amachree not Data Amakri and the man below Dr Soleye is Chief Festus Odimegwu.
ReplyDeleteName assister; Bode's surname has one "M." Bola take note.
ReplyDeletegosh I hope none of them tumbled with the avante gard looking dresses cause they look heavier than heavy!
ReplyDeletenice show...put together well
btw you can never be too old to show what you got so Nike Osinowo-Soleye is rocking that dress!

Is it me or has aunty Nike Oshinowo done the famous whitening body bath.... Haba, she used to be dark and beautiful... I mean she still alright but what's with this compulsive 'I must be fair' thing. On the contestants, i think they were all just there. Some of the guests wore hideous designs. Well done on the pictures.
