12 Designers – Kate Williams, Bubu Isigo, Mo Alatise, Xenia Ejidike, Binta Shuaibu, Beatrice Black Atari, Oroma Cookey Gam, Akpos Okudu, Ejiro Amos Tafiri, Ibitein Thompson, Bola Yinka Obebe and our youngest competitor – 13 yr old Onanma Okeke had been working round the clock to design a 12 piece collection using Vlisco Real Dutch Wax as part of their task for the title – MTN British Council Young Designer of The Year.
The award show was most certainly the icing on the cake for young fashion label, Vintage Collette, who won the MTN British Council Fashion Designer of the Year Award, walking away with a brand new Hyundai IX 35 Jeep courtesy MTN, and the opportunity to design a collection for Vlisco Real Dutch Wax sponsors of this category plus a one year contract for the winner to exclusively retail her collection at luxury store Temple Muse in Victoria Island, Lagos.
