Abi Kuku and Funke Fowler |
29th of October 2011, the date of Abi Kuku and Funke Fowler's Traditional Engagement ceremony, was firm in the diaries of Lagos party go-ers. It was probably the most hyped ceremony in Lagos in a while...Every one of my friends and their siblings and their own friends and their friends, friends...( you get my drift?) were there and the Fowler and Kuku Families were prepared to receive the whole of Lagos if they had turned up in two massive marquees set on the grounds of Tafawa Balewa Square
It was a 'Superb Lagos Shindig' and by all standards a classy engagement ceremony. The Bride and Groom looked resplendent in champagne and gold and guests rose to the occasion looking fabulous in their 'master-planned outfits' but no one could steal the Bride's shine..She looked absolutely stunning!
Wishing the couple a very happy married life!
So peeps, who wants to dub Funke's wedding ensemble...???? I likey!!!
The bride looks like a beauty queen out of a movie scene.
ReplyDeleteThey are cute and Funke I did not expect less aburo mi ti o bad
ReplyDeleteHappy married life...very concert/carnival-ish. i am guessing that's what they like? oh and by the way, Abi, what's up with the hand on your woman's shoulder ? abeg, hold her around the waist/hips. we need to see more chemistry pls...lol
ReplyDeletethe bride, ehn...over pretty dey worry her...but then, when I look at her mum, it is easy to see why!
ReplyDeletethe bride is absolutely gorgeous. wow
ReplyDeleteMoney good o...God Almighty, i want to be there one day one day o. Happy married life to the couple.
ReplyDeletetoo flashy for daytime ...the outfit i mean
ReplyDeleteA wedding of heavyweights. Yes, more chemistry will be nice.....
ReplyDeleteFunke; one of Ngeria's prettiest.
If you don't like the flashiness, go look at some other pictures
ReplyDeleteI must commend u and ur team for your consistent photographic efforts, you may want to venture into that business too.
ReplyDeleteI hope u can send someone to cover the wedding. Well done.
Funke's beauty is unrivalled sha... Omo to shaaaaan.
ReplyDeleteMore chemistry is needed from Funke too. See last shot, her fingers ain't wrapped round' more like " oh, hurry with this kiss" . Lol
Funke's mum seems rather cold, unlike the typical overjoyed Naija mum at her daughter's wedding. Didn't note any BIG smile from her....
Wish you guys a blissful journey...
Nice pictures. That oyinbo lady's mini dress and d gele style nailed it.The guy sef dey on point. The older folks sef no gree at all..What an elegant crowd at a very elegant wedding.AA seru e f' omo o
ReplyDeleteVery nice, guest dress decent, and pretty bride....Bola your coverage is off the chain, please feature more wedding please...
ReplyDeleteImma need her to smile more and act happy. Also her mother and grandmother look African American. They are quite pretty.
ReplyDeleteI don't like to read into things too much, but I don't get an in-love vibe from this couple, I am getting a I am doing this as a duty vibe. I really hope I completely wrong on this. I wish them the very best in their married life, may all their dreams come true.
ReplyDeleteMy best outfit belongs to the lady in the all red ensemble. The next one is Shade Okoya in pink.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. Bride is pretty.
ReplyDeleteHowever Bola, your brother's wedding featured on this blog was absolutely beautiful. The attention to detail was to die for. The personal family touches too. As a family you guys are born creative jare.
Back to the Kuku/Fowler's - Very nice but nothing really stands out as unique, sorry. Loads and loads of guests that's all. Seen this before, it's because they are big names that i believe we are sort of intrigued.
No vex o abeg if you are a fan of theirs lol. I am allowed to comment too.
Anon November 6, 2011 7:04 PM; correct about her Mum. She's West Indian and Madam Leila has some mixed heritage too (some people say she's just very ligt skinned.)
ReplyDeleteHer mums african american, i went to school with funke. and you are right chief mrs fowler has mixed heritage.
ReplyDeleteNice pics. Pray tell, what is Abi Kuku's job in Nigeria?? Is he still into music? I remember watching him on top of the pops over a decade ago as the Nigerian born Investment Banker who quit his job to sing...
ReplyDeletenoticed no vibe btw d couple too, dont know y?....but my best weddinwl go to Dakore/Olu so much love displayed....maybe d stress of d wedding sha....d white might be better...abi won fe won fun ra won ni? ebi dore, ore debi
ReplyDeleteI also did not notice much show of love...you know like couple in love.
ReplyDeleteNow I see where Funke got her coldness from, her mum too did not look excited. But I hear her mother is humble while Funke is cocked up.
Nothing unique about the wedding, except the crowd. The pre wedding hype was not justified.
Shola Ojora looks lean, Obaro Ibru looks calmed down and there are the other playboys peeping behind!
Is it me or the gele styles are all the same. nice wedding though
ReplyDeleteFunke's mum is from the West Indies.
ReplyDeletesidah, you are right. Even Funke's mom and dad look like complete strangers sitting next to each other. so perhaps that's just their style to not show excitement about anything.
ReplyDeleteAnon 3.22pm, more of their idea of etiquette, never show emotions in public! He...he...he...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bride! Really stunning but I can't feel the love between the couple!!
ReplyDeleteIs Shola Ojora engaged? I heard he is.
ReplyDeletelol @ not feeling d vibe.
ReplyDeleteAnon 10.58am, Yes Shola O is engaged, so is the biggest player in their clique Kojo A. Just that their wives to be are not the typical Lagos big girls, more on the quiet side!
ReplyDeleteYup @ ITK. To the girl in the 9th picture behind Funke.
ReplyDeleteThe girl behind Funke is engaged to Shola. Kojo wasn't there with his!
ReplyDeleteNaija girls sha! Shola's wife to be is already forming close relationship with Funke. She made sure she was beside her just to claim their husbands are the closest in their clique. Just hope they will be buddies like their hubbies.
ReplyDeleteHe reminds me of an old classmate (in the 70s), Femi Kuku.
