TO BRAID OR NOT TO BRAID? NOLLYWOOD'S MONALISA CHINDA SPOTTED IN GOOD OLD 'WET N WAVY' BRAIDS

Monalisa Chinda wearing 'Wet n Wavy' Braids
Remember the good old days when we were all happy to look proper 'African', proudly wearing our hair in braids and plaits...Long time no braids eh? Wow, it almost seems like a century, since we (ladies..yeah you too...hee!hee!) caught the 'Mulato /Brazilian hair fever'....LOL!
Seriously Doughnuts spotted Monalisa Chinda at Laugh for Christ's Sake , wearing what we fondly used to call 'Wet n Wavy' braids ....
Monalisa usually wears her hair in a golden blonde colour making
her look rather unusual in black hair as seen here....
As for me sha, I prefer her hair in a weave joor, I think it flatters her face more but what do you think?
But sha, maybe its because personally, I don't miss wearing my hair in braids at all as my hair line is just about recovering from the 'Iya Eko/Chop Chop Syndrome' it plagued me with. If only there was a way to wear braids without strands of hair falling out with plaits...So for me, if it's Brazilian or whatever hair that will do for now, so be it! .......and all the "Ex and Recovering Iya-Ekos" said "Amen"...LOL!

But which do you prefer? Monalisa with braids or with luscious bangs???

  1. I'm a huge fan of braids. Love it in London and all the compliments i get. I’m currently rocking the one I did in Lagos 2 weeks ago.
Also, weaves cause receding hairlines. Ask Naomi Campbell.
As for Indian, Brazilian, Peruvian or whatever they are called, i'm still shrieking at the stories behind them. When I don’t have braids I wear my shoulder length hair in a bob style.
I don't think MonaLisa will look bad in anything. Fine girl.

  2. Braids are better, I think us black women need to be much more comfortable with being ourselves, i'm not saying you cant wear a weave once in a while but you saying "weave flatters the face more" is like me saying white skin flatters the face more...

  3. i like her n both but looking @ her hairline wt d braids, she may be sitting on a long thing cause they look like something that'll seriously chop off if they r not taken down after 1 or 2wks and that's not d best way to enjoy braids,,,,me think braids r meant to be enjoyed when all d pain and sore r gone but then for people like me, that's when scraping like iya eko starts so for me its brazilian all d way i beg
