LAGOS DESIGNERS SET TO CELEBRATE THE HISTORY OF AUSTRIAN LACE IN NIGERIAN FASHION ON SATURDAY 14TH OF MAY AT EKO HOTEL, VICTORIA ISLAND.

 ITUEN BASI
Once again excitement hits the Lagos fashion scene as the Austrian Association of lace embroiders in collaboration with the Austrian Embassy-Commercial Section, celebrates “The history and future of Austrian lace in Nigerian Fashion" featuring Ituen Basi, Godwin Mekwuye of Vivid Imagination, Frank Oshodi of House of Bunor, Folake Folarin-Coker of Tiffany Amber.
I really like the Austrian lace detail used to
 tie the scroll invite...
Each featured designer has been challenged to come up with innovative designs and exciting new ways of wearing lace other than Iro and Buba that will drive and encourage the use of lace to everyday wear just like Ankara has evolved over the years. I can’t wait to see what the designers come up with that will really convince people to go funky on their ever pricey Austrian lace..
The strictly by invite event holds this Saturday May the 14th at 7pm at the Eko Hotel Expo Centre, where guests will also be treated to an exclusive preview of artifacts from the “African Lace” exhibition to open at Lagos National Museum in June.. This event is certainly not one to be missed.
Dress Code: Smart, Lace Preferred...hmmm, now what do I wear...?????
In the meantime here are a few teasers of designs from featured designers to whet our appetite..
