"It’s Our Time"....Says D’Banj, UN Ambassador for Youth..

Just a few days ago, my ‘bestie’ Bose and I were talking..(not really we were bbing..same as talking right???)...I was bragging that I had registered to VOTE and proudly asserted that henceforth I wished to be addressed as ‘Bola RV’ (i.e Bola Registered Voter) just like my friend Sola Kuti RV..the Title Custodian:)
A bb smile sent and she quickly reminded me that she had registered way before me the  previous week  ...making her claim the title ‘Bose SRV’ (i.e Bose Senior Registered Voter)...bb smiles after we agreed that  there was no contest..Bose SRV it was and still is.
Looking back on that small talk we had, it suddenly occurred to me that for the first time ever, I was going to be taking a stand for change in Nigeria..I along with my bestie and millions of other Nigerians will be exercising our civil right to choose a better future for Nigeria and it does fill me with pride...we have certainly come a long way as a people...
I’m so delighted all I can say is I’m D’Banj..!!!! Well not really ..I’m 'Bola'...like my mama calls me or 'Shiny' like my girls call me...but right now D’Banj and I have something in common...we are both Registered Voters ....Whoop! Wooop! Here goes your title ‘Ambassador Dbanj SSRV’ :)
But D’Banj UN Ambassador for youth is taking it a step further with a “Not for Profit’ campaign titled OUR TIME a social responsibility initiative in collaboration with other artists like P-Square, Banky-W, Sound Sultan, Timi Dakolo, Duncan Mighty, Timaya are encouraging Nigerian Youths to go all out to REGISTER AND VOTE.
True Nigeria lovers to the core these Artists are doing something rather novel. While various organizations have been formed to support this cause, this is the first time in Nigerian Entertainment History, that artists have formed a coalition, to encourage the Youth of Nigeria to register to vote, vote, and have a voice in the future of Nigeria. The Intentions of OUR TIME is to utilize a unique platform to create a campaign that will mobilize the youths to participate in the ongoing voters registration exercise via radio jingles, television ads, print media, online marketing and concerts in six geographical regions in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Led by D’banj and Mo Hits Records, a 6 state concert is being planned which will feature top international African and Nigerian artists. Entry to the concert will be strictly by showing your voters registration card.
The advantages include positioning Nigeria under the present leadership as a true democratic country, ensuring the massive participation of youths in the democratic process, initiating change through positive social interaction, worldwide media coverage of the positive changes thereby showcasing a new Nigeria and the power of the youths to decide their leadership. D’banj, Musical Artist and UN Ambassador for the youths and foremost voice of the youths in the federal republic of Nigeria alongside leading artists (MOHITS CREW, P SQUARE, NAETO C, SASHA P, M.I., DUNCAN MIGHTY, TERRY G, TIMAYA, TIMI DAKOLO etc) embark on a series of free concerts in Six geographical regions of Nigeria in a bid to ensure youth participation in the ongoing voters registration.
Entry into these concerts will require no gate fee, only your VOTERS REGISTERATION CARDS.

So guys and gals...we have less than 48 hours to go ...if you haven’t registered to vote. Please do all it takes...queue  if you have to, wait if you have to, whatever you do.. DO NOT LOSE OUT ON YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE..REGISTER TO VOTE.
Like Ambassador D’Banj says....Ki mon ....Let’s go..:) REGISTER AND VOTE, YOUR VOTE IS YOUR VOICE..USE IT...! OOOOOSHEEE!!!!!!
